The Pella Girls took nine events and coasted to a first place finish in the girls portion of the 46th Panthers Relays in Knoxville Saturday. The Lady Dutch took first place individually with Katie Sunderman in the 100, Marielle Gaiser in the 400, and Megan Current in the 100 hurdles. Pella nearly swept the relay events winning the four-by-100, 200, 400, 800, sprint medley, and shuttle hurdle relays. Knoxville was runner-up in the team standings by 45 points. The Panthers were able to get individual gold from Katie Ayers twice as she won the shot put and discus, Amy Turner won the 200 and Alissa Van Klootwyk won the 1500 by over five seconds. Pella Christian was third as Lynelle DeBruin won the long jump. Twin Cedars was fourth as Freshman Brittney Roby brought home the lone gold medal for the Sabers with a win in the 400 meter hurdles.
