With just two weeks to go until Tulip Time, every city department is busy getting ready.
For the Pella Police Department, that means gearing up for about 70,000 visitors over the course of a few days.
Pella Police Chief Micheal Marcinkowski says the biggest challenge his department faces is keeping traffic flowing smoothly through town. He says that as the event is largely alcohol-free, officers can focus on facilitating a fun, safe time for visitors.
The festival kicks off May 5th.
