Schrad May Stay on as Interim City Manager Until Stewart Starts in June

The transition period will soon begin as one Knoxville City Manager retires and another begins. Dick Schrad, who has held the position for the past 5 years, is set to retire at the end of the month. Though, new City Manager Harold Stewart was required to give his current staff in Ogallala, Nebraska a 60 day notice. Therefore, he won’t begin work in Knoxville until June 13th. Schrad says he plans to bring a proposal to the City Council at a future meeting that would allow him to stay on board as an interim City Manager so that he can continue working on a few projects and help fill in before Stewart takes over. He says though nothing has officially been presented yet, he assumes the council will accept the proposal.
