Behind at least a fifth-place finish in all but one event, the Pella Christian girls track and field squad began the outdoor season in a strong way; finishing second in the team standings at Tuesday’s Davis County Coed.  The Lady Eagles racked up 152 team points; while host Davis County won the meet with 182 points.  Albia finished in a distant third place.
Top performances for Pella Christian included victories by Jasmin Schelhaas in the 100 meter dash, Lynelle De Bruin in the 400 meter hurdles, and Sarah Faber in the long jump.  The Lady Eagles also got first-place finishes out of the 4×100, 4×400 and Sprint Medley relay teams.
The team will run again on Saturday at the Knoxville Coed.
