When storms hit the Marion County are our local law enforcement agencies are on alert and out keeping an eye on the storm.
County Communications Supervisor Martha Dykstra says she encourages area residents to do the same and inform dispatch about things they see, though the most important factor is keeping themselves safe as the weather is very unpredictable.
Marcia Slycord, Dispatch Supervisor at the Pella Police Department says they test their equipment monthly to make sure the system works properly when they need it.
