The Pella Christian boys golf team had to fight its way through adverse weather conditions in Saturday’s tournament at Knoxville, and will likely have to do the same again today when the Eagles travel to State Center for a tournament hosted by West Marshall.  Pella Christian Head Coach Dan Branderhorst says he’s looking forward to the challenges presented by an unfamiliar course.
“That’s always a fun tournament because it is a ways away from Pella and most of the guys will not have seen that course before,” says Branderhorst.
“It’s always different playing a golf course that you haven’t seen, compared with one that you’re familiar with, and so I really hope that we can just rely on the fundamentals of course management; that they can really look at the individual holes and say, ‘what do I need to do to keep the ball in play and keep myself out of trouble.'”
After today’s meet, the Pella Christian boys golfers will have a week to practice, before getting to host a triangular with Grinnell and Knoxville next week at Bos Landen.
