A large group of local, state and national agriculture producers and officials met in Pleasantville yesterday morning. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and U.S. EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson visited a 104 year old century farm owned by Pleasantville High School agriculture teacher and FFA advisor Monty Collins. Also in attendance were representatives from the Farm Service Agency, Natural Resources Conservation Service, USDA, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey, Pleasantville School administrators and FFA students. The group was able to tour the farm as Collins explained his operations.
