As a result of good financial standing as the year wraps up, the Pella School Board recently approved a compensation package for non-teaching staff. That includes custodians, secretaries, cooks, administrators and others not on the teaching staff. Superintendent Mark Wittmer says that part of the school staff will recieve a slight raise this year after seeing pay rates stay the same last year. He says he’s glad that can be done this year, adding it can be frustrating to not be able to always reward people’s good work.
