Well, the rumors are true. Knoxville Raceway Race Director Ralph Capitani has officially announced his retirement after 44 years at the track. When asked if the rumors were true, Cappy responded that he felt that after 44 years he was ready. He doesn’t have future plans finalized, and he said that he would like to thank the community for all of their support over the years, and that he met many wonderful people as part of the job. He adds that though he will be retired, we’ll still see him often at the races.
