Central College landed 11 players in the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, the third-highest total of any college or university in the U.S.
The University of Dayton and Saint John’s University each had 12 honorees this year and were the only schools with more than Central. It’s the fourth straight year that Central has matched or exceeded the number of selections from all other Iowa Conference schools.
Quarterback Zach Bandow had the highest GPA of any Central football player, carrying a 3.91 as a Biology major. Among the other Dutch players recognized were starting linemen Austin Hill and Lee Schroeder, tight end Jordan Leuschen and punter Kurtis Brondyke.
