The conference accolades continue to pile up for Central College during the spring sports season as the Dutch were recognized three more times this week.
Senior golfer Jason Harvey – already named the league’s golfer of the year – is the Iowa Conference male athlete of the week, after taking medalist honors as the Central men captured their 29th Iowa Conference Golf Title this past weekend.  His four-round score of 300 earned Harvey conference MVP honors and all-league recognition for a second time.
The Dutch track and field squad also continued its impressive run of awards, as Ethan Miller was named field events athlete of the week, while Central’s 4×100 meter relay team took the track events honor.  Miller shattered a decade-old school record in the decathlon last Thursday, posting five lifetime bests and placing fourth in a loaded field at the Drake Relays.  He currently holds the top decathlon mark in Division III and is being recognized as the Iowa Conference’s best field events athlete for the fourth time this season.
The 4×100 meter relay team of Trevor Veach, Logan Danko, Kyle Wood and Allen Scovel earned their league recognition on the heels of a sixth place finish in the college division at the Drake Relays, and currently hold the sixth-fastest time in Division III. Wood has been named track athlete of the week five consecutive times this season.
