One day after breaking the school’s 4×200 meter relay record, the Central College women’s 4×400 meter relay team shattered the mark they had set two weeks earlier to highlight a strong finish by the Dutch track and field squads at the Drake Relays in Des Moines.  The women’s 4×400 team bested their previous record by over a second and easily surpassed the NCAA-automatic qualifying standard as they climbed to the second fastest time of the season in Division III.

The Central men’s track and field team closed out the Relays in fine fashion as well, as the Dutch 4×100 meter squad finished sixth in the college division and just four-hundredths of a second off of their season’s best – which is currently ranked sixth in the country for Division III.

Up next for the Central College track and field squads is a trip to Illinois for the Monmouth Invitational, which will be the teams’ final tune-up before the Iowa Conference meet.
