Sighting safety as a concern, the Pella City Council will commission a study to gauge the necessity of traffic lights on Washington Street at the east bound off ramp of Highway 163. Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini says the city has received many comments from residents both in support and opposition to the lights. He says the cost could be in excess of $150,000 and before any decisions are made, the Council has requested a traffic study to learn if current traffic patterns reflect a need for the signals.
