Nine local bakers competed in the annual Dutch Baking contest last night at the Sterrenberg Library. Prizes were awarded to the top two vote-getters and the Queen’s choice. 1st place went to Alberta DeVries for her Dutch apple tart. Verna Vander Molen was second with a stuffed crust Dutch apple pie and Linda Roose was the favorite of Queen Tricia Wizniewski with her Dutch apple cake with carmel topping.
