The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has been interviewing deputy applicants as the result of one retirement and one resignation. Marion County Sheriff Ron Goemaat tells KNIA/KRLS News that there have been a total of 28 applicants for the two positions. After rigorous written examinations and physical testing, the pool has been reduced to four applicants. Interviews continue, and Goemaat hopes to have the positions filled next week.
