Knoxville boys’ hopes for a conference title in soccer took a major blow last night in a 3-1 loss to Newton. The Panthers lone goal came courtesy of Tanner Peterson.
The girls lost to the Cardinals 2-0. Knoxville had multiple chances to even the match at one late but Newton scored with three minutes remaining to ice the game.
Coach Charley Fisher says pushing the ball behind the defense is still a part of the game that they are working on. Knoxville is in action on Thursday against Norwalk.
There are a couple of games that have been changed on the schedule, the home match against South Tama has once again been rescheduled to May 16th and the road match at PCM will played the next night on the 17th.
