While the boys played, their tennis match between Knoxville and Pella was rained out when a sudden cloud burst soaked the courts at Young’s Park in Knoxville. Panther’s Coach Nick DeMoss said the courts would not have dried in time to allow match play starts and get over with before darkness set in. As far as the season so far he is learning a lot about his team and what they can do. He says Tuesday proved to him that the girls can overcome adversity during their matches. DeMoss adds it was disappointing not to have played Pella because he thinks it could be been a close match. Knoxville will now prepare for Monday’s Little Hawkeye Conference Tournament in Grinnell.
