Those who see Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada around town in the next few weeks may not recognize him without his uniform. As previously reported by KNIA/KRLS news, Losada was appointed as an interim City Manager during Monday’s City Council meeting. The appointment was necessary as there needs to be someone designated to sign necessary forms and address concerns as they arise between now and new City Manager Harold Stewart’s start in June. Losada says he’s looking forward to the opportunity.
Taking over in this capacity also means changes for the police department as Losada will not have time to do all of his normal duties. Therefore, some of the tasks will be delegated to his lieutenant.
Overall, Losada says he is looking at this as a growth experience as he will be able to learn more about city government that he didn’t know and will also allow his officers to learn how to take on new tasks as well.
