PCM was runner-up at the Knoxville Girls Golf Invitational yesterday. The Mustangs were 35 shots off of winner Grinnell. Pella was third – just two shots off of PCM’s score of 407 – and Knoxville placed seventh with a team total of 524.
The Mustangs were led by Rachel Phifer who shot a 95, Pella was led by Shelby Williams and her 97, and Knoxville’s Morgan Roy shot a 111. The girls will head to Bos Landen in a triangular with South Tama and Pella, while the boys host the Little Dutch and Trojans at Pine Knolls.
Knoxville Girls Coach Kyle Kincaid says at this point of the season he is trying to get the girls to focus on long term goals for next season. The Knoxville boys meanwhile, are playing their final match of the regular season as sectionals will start on Friday.
