Knoxville and Pella also meet on the girls tennis court last night at Young’s Park in Knoxville. This was a makeup from a meet that was rained out last week. Pella got the win six/five as the Lady Dutch took wins at number three and five singles. Pella dominated the doubles play wining four of the five matches. Knoxville was victorious at number one, two, four, and six singles and number one doubles. After a strong fourth place finish in the Little Hawkeye Conference this week…the Knoxville Girls Tennis Squad looks to the team Regionals tomorrow. The Panthers start off with a familiar foe in Albia as the two squads play in Oskaloosa. Should the Panthers win, they would play the survivor of the Oskaloosa and Centerville match also on Saturday. After that, the Panthers would venture into unknown territory as the regional semi-finals would be in Muscatine on Monday May 23rd and the final would be in Iowa City. Knoxville Coach Nick DeMoss says it starts with Albia and the girls need to take it one match at a time. The Albia match will start at nine while the second round match for the winners will get going at one on Saturday afternoon.
