The nursing staff at Pella Regional Health Center is working to advance the cause of nursing internationally. The staff is currently raising funds to sponsor a student in nursing at the Haiti School of Nursing in Port Au-Prince. Yvonne O’Brien, Chief Nursing Officer at Pella Regional says the nurses were looking for a way to give back. Pam Boat, a Nursing Supervisor says after four trips to Haiti, she’s aware of the challenges facing that country and is excited that Pella Regional is helping in this way. Cindy Stirratt, also a Nursing Supervisor, echoed that sentiment, adding she’s happy that the nursing staff has pulled together to help out in another, less fortunate country.
