For the second straight season Clarinda beat Pleasantville at the class 2A girls golf Regional. But, unlike last season the Cardinals beat Pleasantville for the Regional championship and not a spot for state. By virtue of their runner up finish, the Trojans are heading to the class two state tournament. Pleasantville shot a 379 just seven strokes off of Clarinda. Coach Dan Calhoun said 379 was a good score and was happy to have qualified for the state tournament. Pleasantville was led by Kaitlyn Friday who shot an 88. Pleasantville and Clarinda will join six other teams as the Otter Creek Course in Ankeny. P-C-M’s Maddie Peters was playing as an individual and fell five strokes shy of making the state meet.
