Hundreds of volunteers will gather together later this month to do their part to better the community. A Call to Serve Ministries of Iowa (ACTS) will hold their annual spring service surge in Knoxville on May 14th. Volunteers will participate in a variety of projects such as painting, landscaping and home repair. In addition, the surge will also include a Meals of the Heartland food packaging event for those who are looking to help with less physically strenuous work. Donation buckets can be found around the Knoxville community and all money raised will go toward the purchase of food that will be packaged for those in need.
