Marion county came under one tornado watch yesterday from 5pm until 9pm, and two severe thunderstorm warnings in the early evening hours. The KNIA/KRLS severe weather action team took to the air, covering action throughout the county and surrounding area with live coverage from Weathereye, storm spotters, and with information supplied by local officials. The storms blew through quickly, with 95/100’s of an inch of rain being deposited. Reports of damage were limited, with Clay Township Fire being deployed to a downed powerline in that area. Only a few homes were reportedly without power, and MidAmerican crews were on scene quickly. KNIA/KRLS is your official National Weather Service Reporting Station.
