Pleasantville Native Chelsea Thomas is among three finalists for the U-S-A Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year. Thomas already has had an incredible season in 2011. She was recently named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Year…was named Pitcher of the Week six times this season. She holds a 29-6 record this season with a 0.82 E-R-A and a school record 342 strikeouts and issuing only 40 walks, and was selected to try out for the U-S-A National Softball Squad this summer.
The U-S-A Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year is the most prestigious award given out in Division one softball. Thomas will lead her Missouri Tiger squad in the N-C-A-A Super Regional against Washington this weekend.
