Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson tells KNIA KRLS  that Emergency Management officials in Joplin, Missouri  have requested that the public stop sending unsolicited donations  of items to the rescue and recovery effort.  Items have become so numerous that they are hindering recovery efforts. Anderson adds that the best way to help is to donate cash to organizations such as the American Red Cross.
