Despite not playing some of their best soccer, the Pella boys were able to escape a non-conference clash with Carlisle, as the Little Dutch defeated the Wildcats 2-0 Monday night. Both of the goals for the Pella boys came in the first half, with Carlisle clamping down defensively for the remainder of the game.
Little Dutch Head Coach Mark Solomon said the team also missed out on some opportunities offensively to break the game open, something they have been trying to improve upon in recent weeks. Still, the victory improves Pella’s record to 12-3 overall.
The Little Dutch are 6-1 in the Little Hawkeye Conference, but play another non-conference game this evening, when they travel to Marshalltown to take on the Bobcats.
