A Knoxville man had his motion to suppress evidence linking him to possession to marijuana denied Wednesday in the Iowa Court of Appeals. John Baxter was convicted of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute in December of 2009. Baxter’s appeal claimed that the search of his vehicle that led to the discovery of five pounds of marijuana was unconstitutional. The Court of Appeals sided with the Iowa District Court’s ruling, saying that the traffic stop was based upon reasonable suspicion.
