Seemingly every player on the roster got at least one hit, as the Pella Christian baseball team earned a split in the two games they played in a tournament hosted at Pella Christian High School on Saturday.
The Eagles picked up 11 hits in their first game, but Bondurant-Farrar had 13 of their own, as Pella Christian fell 12-8.  Tom Bouwkamp led the way on offense, going 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and three runs scored; while Zach Zylstra, Curtis Rozenboom and Marcus Van Zee each were 2-of-4.
The Eagles were able to go deep into their roster for the second game, as head coach Brad Rolffs said a number of JV players saw some varsity action in a 6-3 win over Lynnville-Sully.  Rozenboom notched the win on the pitcher’s mound, allowing the three runs in five innings of work, while striking out five batters.
At the plate, Zylstra had two doubles in another 2-for-4 performance and also recorded an RBI.  The Pella Christian baseball team is 13-7 overall and 8-3 in the conference, with a return to league play on Monday at Grinnell.
