Listeners will notice intermittent signal disruptions on both 92.1 KRLS and 1320 KNIA this evening at around 6:30. KNIA/KRLS radio will be installing new, more powerful generators at the strasmitter sites for both KNIA AM and KRLS FM. These larger generators will allow our Severe Weather Action Team to serve our listeners even better in situations when the power goes out by continuing regular broadcasting during a power outage faster and at full power. KNIA/KRLS General Manager Jim Butler says this project has been in the works for some time and we are excited to be in the final stages of completion as it will definitely help in coverage of storms and power outages like those Marion County experienced Sunday evening. The intermittent disruption should last no longer than a couple of hours this evening. Similar interruptions will also occur Thursday evening on 92.1 KRLS only. We appreciate your understanding as we make this transition.
