The Knoxville Community School Board narrowed the candidates down to two on Tuesday evening as they continued the process of selecting an architect for the proposed auditorium project. The finalists are Struxture Architects and SVPA. Both firms are based out of West Des Moines. Both firms have done auditoriums in the area before – Struxture created Perry’s auditorium, while SVPA did Pella Christian’s. The board set a tentative meeting date for next Wednesday, June 30, where each firm will make final presentations. The meeting is set to start at 4:30. One firm will present at the start of the meeting, and one firm scheduled to present at 6pm. The date and time is subject to change, based on the firms’ availability. The board says they want to make a final decision at the July 11 board meeting. KNIA/KRLS will let you know of any changes to the tentative meeting date or time.
