The Knoxville Community School District meets in special session Thursday afternoon as they conduct final interviews in selecting the architect for the proposed auditorium project. After interviewing seven architectural and construction management firms, the board narrowed their search down to two architectural firms – Struxture Architects and SVPA. Both firms have recently completed auditoriums for high schools in the area. Struxture Architects did Perry’s, while SVPA was chosen for Pella Christian’s. Dr. Randy Flack, superintendent of the school district, says that the board is looking for more information on the firms’ experiences in building these auditoriums as well as how they will interact with community members. The meeting starts at four and each interview will take about an hour. It’ll take place in the Board Room at the Administrative Building.
