Following a pair of soggy days away from competition, the Pella softball team will return to the diamond today to host their own four-team tournament.
For Lady Dutch Head Coach Krista DeMeulenaere, planning and operating a tournament is a labor of love, and she says she’s looking forward to the competition that will come to Pella High, including another Marion County school.
“I love to do that kind of thing. My husband and I do this throughout the winter – put on basketball tournaments and things,” said DeMeulenaere. “I’m really excited to have Saydel, Newton and Twin Cedars come to Pella and [I] expect a really good day.”
The Pella softball team carries a 6-3 overall record into today’s tournament.
