Though national elections are still about a year and a half away, contenders for the GOP nomination have made their presence known early in Marion County.
The conservative Family Leader Organization, led by Sioux City businessman Bob Vander Plaats has hosted a lecture each month in Pella since February.
He says the lecture series is a way to introduce voters to the possible candidates. The next speaker in the series is pizza magnate Herman Cain who will speak at Pella Christian High School next Monday.
