The Pella Christian baseball team put up a combined 23 runs, but salvaged only a split at home against Oskaloosa last night.  The Indians roughed up Eagles’ starting pitcher Kyle De Ronde for 11 hits and 7 runs in four innings on the way to a 9-8 Oskaloosa win in the opener.
Pella Christian more than avenged the one-run loss in the nightcap, though, ripping the Indians for a 15-0 win in only four innings.  Pitcher Tom Bouwkamp shone on the mound for the Eagles, allowing only three hits and striking out for batters in the shutout.
Offensively, Zach Zylstra put together an impressive evening, going 5-for-7 at the plate between the two games, including a home run in the opener, a double in each game, and a combined five runs scored.
Kyle De Ronde also performed well at the plate, finishing his night with three hits – two of which were doubles – scoring three times, and batting in four runs.
The Pella Christian baseball team is off tonight before a much-anticipated contest at home with Pella High tomorrow night
