Snapping a streak of wins or losses with a one-run differential, the Pella Christian softball team rocked South Tama on Wednesday night with a 13-5 win on the Lady Eagles’ home field.
Ashley Van Kooten was responsible for nearly a third of those runs, crossing the plate four times, including once on her sixth home run of the season. Paige Blom added three runs herself, complimenting a 5-for-5 performance at the plate that included two doubles.
Blom held South Tama at bay from the pitcher’s circle as well, allowing four hits and four walks and striking out nine Trojan batters.
The win pushes Pella Christian to 7-3 in the Little Hawkeye Conference and 13-6 overall.
