After two non-conference games earlier this week, the Pella baseball team is enjoying a break away from competition before returning to the field to close out the regular season early next week.

The Little Dutch have been finding a great deal of success in recent weeks, and Head Coach Aaron Reasland says part of that can be attributed with the willingness of his reserve players to fill various roles when called upon.

“I can’t tell you how many players we’ve called off the bench that have come in and been successful for us.  Whether it be pinch hits, pinch running, throwing out of the bullpen for us, or filling in for a starting role if another guy’s not getting it done.  We’ve got one guy after another,” said Reasland.

“We’ve got 25 guys strong, and I trust every single one of them and I can put them in opportunities where we will be successful.”

The Pella baseball team is currently 17-14 overall and sit at 12-8 in the Little Hawkeye Conference.  They’ll close out the league slate at Grinnell on Monday, then cap off the regular season with Senior Night against Centerville on Tuesday.
