The South Central Iowa Solid Waste Agency is saying that their July hazardous waste collections in Marion County successful. Nearly 4000 pounds of chemicals were recovered between the two cleanups in Knoxville and Pleasantville.

Sara Bixby, the director of the South Central Iowa Solid Waste Agency, says that because this was the first collection in Pleasantville in a few years, they saw higher numbers of older and more dangerous chemicals then they did in Knoxville, where they have a collection annually.
