The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team was called into action last night. At approximately 8:20 the National Weather Service announced a severe thunderstorm warning for Marion county.
High winds in excess of 60 miles per hour along with lighting strikes were the biggest threat, causing a power outage and downed limbs in the Knoxville area and also a structure fire at a former church building in Knoxville.
The storm finally moved through the area at 9:30.
