The Marion County Sheriff’s Office will have one less familiar face as they go back to work this week. Doug DeRonde retired last year after 25 years of service. DeRonde has worked with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office since 1986 in both the role of reserve deputy and as a jailer. Though he is retiring as a jailer, Marion County Sheriff Ron Goemaat says he will remain as a reserve deputy. Goemaat says they’ll miss the humor he mixed in with work; he liked to joke and have a good time.
