The Class 2A District Baseball Tournament continues Tuesday night for the Pella Christian Eagles, as they’ll host the Blue Demons of Albia in the quarterfinal round. The Eagles claimed a hard-fought 4-1 win over Pleasantville on Saturday to earn their way to the next round, while Albia slugged their way past PCM, 8-2.

Eagles Head Coach Brad Rolffs says he expects the Blue Demons to continue to swing away in Tuesday night’s match-up.

“Albia is gonna be the same old Albia. They’re gonna come out and try to crush the ball – that’s how they play. That’s how they always have [played] and probably always will as long as they have the same coach around,” says Rolffs. “We know what’s coming, and we know how to try and beat them.”

The two teams were scheduled to play each other in the first week of the season, but were rained out and were unable to find a make-up date. Pella Christian enters the game with a 23-13 record, while Albia is 17-17 overall.

You can hear tonight’s District Baseball Tournament game broadcast live on 92.1 fm KRLS with David Hecht providing the call. Coverage from Pella Christian High School will begin at approximately 6:45 p.m., with the opening pitch between the Eagles and the Blue Demons scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
