Young actors are hard at work this week preparing for performances by the Pella Shakespeare Company this weekend.

Director Andy Macguire says he’s been impressed with how quickly the kids have been able to pick up on his direction and put it into action.

Assistant Director and Stage Manager Katie Peterson calls herself a “Shakespearian Nerd” and says the cast has no fear and dives right into what, for some, can be intimidating language and scripts.

The Pella Shakespeare Company will perform scenes from The Tempest, Macbeth, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream Saturday, July 16th at 7:00pm, at West Market Park. The performance is free and open to the public.
