Some coaches who have a team like Martensdale St. Mary’s in their conference may not like having the Blue Devils around. However, Pleasantville Baseball Coach Sheldon Card says Martensdale St. Mary’s has set the bar high in the Pride of Iowa Conference, but he adds when his teams play the Blue Devils, he see it as a measuring stick. Martensdale St. Mary’s actually had to go all seven innings and get a run in the bottom of the seventh to win its first round state game over English Valleys yesterday.
