In addition to County Fair festivities, the weekend will also see the first ever Red Rock Balloon Festival.

Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Jill Vandevoort says balloon enthusiasts in the area brought the idea to the attention of her and several area businesses.

She says this is one more opportunity to showcase Lake Red Rock and bring visitors to the area. Flight competitions will begin at 6 pm Friday with more scheduled for 6 am and 6 pm Saturday and a final flight Sunday morning at 6, along with a night glow Saturday 8:30. Here’s the full schedule ^[1].
