A trial date has been set for Eric Burkland. The Pella man pleaded not guilty to several felony charges in his arraignment hearing last Friday, where he exercised his right to a speedy trial.

He was charged on July 5th with five felony charges and one serious misdemeanor in all, including possession of explosives, neglect of a dependent person, reckless use of a firearm, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of methamphetamine.

The trial will be September 13th at 9:30, with a pre-trial conference set for August 19th.
