Like most softball teams in the area, the Twin Cedars Sabers are wrapping up their season tonight. After tonight’s scheduled non-conference contest with Montezuma, the Sabers must do a quick turnaround and focus on their first round class 1A opponent Lynnville-Sully who is ranked ninth in the latest and final class 1A poll. Coach Jim Duncan says the girls have done a good job of buying into the system this season, now they need to start stepping up their effort even more to have success in the postseason. Duncan adds some of the seniors have had to take on different roles this season like running the bases and possibly playing behind an underclassman. He says they have done a nice job of accepting those role and hopes that will continue when postseason starts this week.
