Broadcast Agencies Important in Weather Emergencies

FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate said in an interview last week that your local radio stations and other local broadcast outlets are the best source for information in during weather emergencies, something that local emergency officials agree with. Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson says that local broadcasters receive specific information from local officials that can be more relevant that a press release from a government agency. He says local broadcasters such as KNIA/KRLS have become a resource that both they and residents of the county rely on during severe weather.
