Expectations are high for the Pella boys cross country team this fall, and rightfully so.  The Little Dutch are fully stocked with experience, along with incredible depth, and that is creating a very competitive environment in practice.  

Pella head coach Doug Cutler says even though the entire state-qualifying team from last year is back this fall, there are still a number of athletes who want a spot on that team this season.  

That competition will make everyone on the team better, as Cutler says there are no guaranteed spots on this year’s varsity squad, adding that as the season progresses, the runners who improve their times will have the chance to earn their way into the line-up.  

Pella begins the 2011 cross country season on their home course for the Pella Invitational.
