As children get ready to go back to school, it’s important to remember immunizations. Sonya Test, a nurse at Marion County Public Health, says that there are four separate shots that children need to get right before they start kindergarten, and that children going into middle school are recommended to have a tetanus booster. Dental screening is required for kids going into kindergarten and ninth grade. Test says Marion County Public Health offers these services to anyone who has Medicaid, no insurance, or insurance that doesn’t cover immunizations.
