Kyle Larson has been touted as of the of the most up and coming young talents in non-wing sprint car racing. Last night in the Ultimate Challenge at the Southern Iowa Speedway he showed everybody what he can do by winning the Ultimate Challenge in a car he was driving for the first time. Larson started inside row one and had a battle with Sunday’s Knoxville Non-Wing Nationals Winner Brady Bacon, but Larson figured out a way around Bacon late in the race and went on to win. Bacon finished second with Dave Darland, Shane Cottle, Jerry Coons, Jr, and Hunter Schuerenberg (sure-EN-berg) completing the top five. Tonight starts the 51st Annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals. Over 100 drivers will race for a spot in the $150,000 to win championship race Saturday night. Tonight is night one of qualifying. You can hear the action live on KNIA/KRLS starting with Live Track Side at six, and Race Night’s Live at 7:30, all race programming can also be streamed live at kniakrls.com.
